Max learned to sail at 8 years old and was quickly drawn to competition. After just one year of training, he placed 5th in his first regatta, the Tri-City (Optimist Cup) in Sopot, North Poland.
Following this result, he transitioned to the RS Tera at his local sailing club in London. Again, he jumped straight into the competition scene, and after a winter of training, placed 5th at his first Start of Seasons Championships in 2017. Following a number of further successes, he was selected into the RS Tera UK National Squad.
His sailing continued to excel, and in 2018, he won the UK Inland National Championships, the Swedish Nationals, The Eurocup, a number of national regattas, and came 4th at the World Championships. Following an incredible season, he progressed into the RS Tera Pro fleet and immediately took down the End of Season UK National Championships, the Swedish Championships and the 2018 European Cup. He went on to achieve 3rd place in the 2019 World Championships as an RS Tera Pro.
In 2020, Max has transferred to the Laser 4.7 fleet. Posting impressive results, he has now secured a place on the RYA British Youth Sailing Team and is in training to represent GBR at the European and World Championships this year. We are proud to support Max as he continues his journey.
